The Right to Marry by Sade Wilburn

“I obviously have to be on my deaf bed, in order to marry the love of my life”. Is probably what some same-sex couples are thinking in Texas and Indiana. In an article I read called “judge defies Texas law to wed same-sex couple under one-time order”. Talks about how a same sex couple got married under a one-time court order granted by a judge. The only reason the judge granted the order was one has ovarian cancer. I feel that marriage is a beautiful thing, and being able to marry the person who you love and want to spend the rest of your life with is even more beautiful. Everyone should be able to marry whomever they want, since true love does not have a gender. The article also went on to explain how soon after the couple’s marriage the courts later issued an emergency block from all other same-sex couples obtaining a marriage licenses. Which I is wrong because it is denying other same-sex from their rights.
I feel that the Supreme Court system should not have any say in whether couples can or can’t not get married. Marriage is something based on love, and everyone should be able to marry whom they choose. Rather male or female no matter their gender. The article also goes on to talk about how other exceptions have been made for another same-sex couple in Indiana.  Which seems like the only way for a same sex couple to get married in those two states, is for the other one to have a serious dieses.  Which is pretty messed up in my opinion, that just goes to show how same-sex couples are constantly being stripped from their rights.
